Kate Ransom is from New Orleans, where she has absorbed the musical culture since her toddler years. She soloed for the first time at the world-famous New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival (Jazz Fest) when she was nine years old and since then has performed at a number of New Orleans festivals as a vocalist with the Jazz and Heritage School of Music. 

 

Kate's music combines a soulful blend of jazz, modern pop and blues that is unparalleled for her age of 12. She continues to perform regularly in her hometown, and is ramping up to take on the world as her stage. Kate is accompanied by NOCCA senior Kirsten Theodore on the saxophone.
